When you use the Application, you need a Google account to login into Google Reader. There are 3 types of login method.

  1. Using an Android device with an Google account user can select the account to sign in. gReader uses the built-in authentication of the device to login into Google Reader. You don’t have to provide your login information to the app.
  2. OAuth can be used if you don’t have an Google account on the device. The app sends you to the Google login site and you have to authenticate yourself on that page. The authentication is processed by Google therefore gReader cannot see any data on the login process. After the authentication has finished a token provided by Google is used to sync your items.
  3. The 3rd method uses your username and password to login into Google Reader. This method should only be used if you don’t have an Google account on the device or OAuth does not work. Username and password will only be used to login into Google Reader.
